Abiding Hope Counseling Services, located in Manassas, Virginia, offers comprehensive outpatient counseling, including individual, family, and group sessions. Our services are available both in-person and through telehealth platforms, extending our reach throughout Virginia. All counseling is provided by licensed therapists or post-masters level therapists working towards licensure. Our clinicians bring diverse training and experience, including facilitating groups, working with individuals in the criminal justice system, and counseling families and individuals affected by abuse, violence, and other traumatic events.

We specialize in Drug and Alcohol (ASAM Level 1) Psychoeducation Groups designed to help individuals understand the reasons behind drug and alcohol use or misuse, recognize personal patterns of use, and identify unhealthy defense mechanisms. These groups also help individuals find community support. Participants often include those convicted of DUI/DWI or other substance-related offenses, individuals mandated to attend substance use treatment by their employers, those returning home after residential treatment, and individuals seeking additional support after completing an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Our classes cover a range of essential topics, including the biological, psychological, legal, and social consequences of substance use and abuse. We discuss the immediate and long-term impacts of alcohol and drugs on the body, particularly in relation to tasks like driving, and differentiate between responsible and irresponsible substance use. Participants also learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of addiction, equipping them with the knowledge needed for a healthier, more informed approach to substance use and recovery.
