The Sunshine Safety Council (SSC) offers two state-approved DUI Programs to meet Florida's Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) certification standards. Serving Volusia, Flagler, and Putnam Counties since 1973, SSC provides both Level I and Level II DUI courses, including a comprehensive risk assessment by certified evaluators. Upon successful completion of the education and evaluation components, participants receive a certificate of completion, which can be submitted to the DHSMV, courts, or probation offices.

The SSC electronically submits completion reports to the DHSMV the day after the final class. For those who require further treatment, SSC coordinates with approved providers to ensure compliance with treatment referrals, issuing certificates only upon completion. Failure to complete the course is reported after 90 days, as mandated by Florida law.

SSC also offers additional programs, such as Special Supervision Services and Ignition Interlock Programs, designed to reduce repeat DUI offenses. For those impacted by DUI-related incidents, the Victim Awareness Program (VAP) helps offenders understand the consequences of their actions from the perspective of victims and families.

DUI registration can be completed online or in person, but final enrollment requires a visit to an SSC office. Registrations take approximately one hour and must be completed during business hours, ensuring ample time before closing. Both first-time and multiple offenders are required to provide specific documentation during registration, including driver’s license information, arrest reports, and court orders, if applicable.
