Substance Use Counseling at Deaton & Deaton
In 2019, over 20 million Americans faced Substance Use Disorder (SUD), yet only a small fraction received treatment. Recognizing the urgency of addressing substance abuse issues is crucial for recovery. At Deaton & Deaton, we support individuals throughout their recovery journey, offering a safe space to express thoughts and feelings, fostering healing and growth.
Substance abuse is characterized by excessive reliance on drugs or alcohol, leading to significant life disruptions. It is essential to seek help promptly, as SUD can have serious and potentially fatal consequences. Our counseling approach emphasizes systemic therapy, enabling clients to explore how their behaviors and relationships contribute to their addiction. This process aids in addressing underlying factors such as trauma or co-occurring mental health conditions that may drive substance abuse.
Counseling for SUD not only assists individuals in identifying healthy coping strategies but also helps them manage stress effectively. Many people turn to substances as an escape from anxiety, depression, or other life challenges. Through counseling, clients learn sustainable methods to cope with these pressures, establishing a solid support system that is vital for long-term sobriety.
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers a comprehensive 6-week treatment option that includes housing, food, and transportation. Participants engage in daily classes and therapy sessions based on the Matrix Model of addiction treatment, alongside support from Peer Support Specialists. Our commitment to acceptance and compassion ensures that each individual is guided on their unique path to wellness as they navigate early recovery challenges.
