The Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC) in Hudson County serves individuals convicted of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI), as well as those who refuse breathalyzer tests. These individuals are mandated to complete either a twelve-hour or a forty-eight-hour educational program, in accordance with Chapter 162 Intoxicated Driving Program Regulations. The twelve-hour program consists of two consecutive six-hour sessions held on weekends, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Each participant is assessed by a certified alcohol or drug counselor, who may refer them for further evaluation if needed. The IDRC program operates under New Jersey’s Intoxicated Drivers Program and the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, ensuring that all clients are monitored throughout their treatment journey. This includes tracking those mandated to attend a regional program after a second DUI conviction.

Participants are required to bring a photo ID and pay a class fee of $264, which can be settled via money order or online credit card payment. While parking is not available on-site, there are local parking lots and metered street options nearby. Public transportation options are accessible, including the Path Train and New Jersey Transit services. Individuals needing to reschedule due to health or family emergencies must provide appropriate documentation. The IDRC also accommodates special populations, including non-English speakers and individuals with disabilities, ensuring all participants receive the necessary support during their educational experience.
