The Intoxicated Driving Program (IDP) in Trenton manages the scheduling of clients for the Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC) classes in Somerset and Hunterdon counties. After sentencing, clients will receive a scheduling notice by mail, which may take 2-4 weeks. A follow-up notice with detailed registration instructions will arrive about a month before the class date. It is crucial for clients to contact the IDRC before the class date if they require a Spanish-speaking class or if they need to reschedule, as failing to do so could lead to non-compliance and potential license suspension.
IDRC classes are conducted in person, starting promptly at 4:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays, with check-in beginning at 3:45 PM. Attendees must bring a valid photo ID and must be seated by the start time to avoid rescheduling. The class fee is $264, payable in advance via credit card online or by money order/certified check at the IDRC office. Clients are required to bring their own meals, as food is not provided, but vending machines and kitchen facilities are available. If a client needs to reschedule, they must provide documentation supporting the request, such as a medical emergency or a work conflict. The IDRC is committed to maintaining confidentiality and will not communicate with third parties without the client’s consent.
