The Impaired Driver Program (IDP), formerly known as the Drinking Driving Program (DDP), is a mandated course for individuals convicted of alcohol or drug-related driving offenses in New York State. Participation in this program is often required to regain a conditional license. The program is specifically for those who have received a court mandate to enroll.
Classes are conducted once a week for seven consecutive weeks, typically from Monday to Thursday, starting at 7 p.m., with each session lasting about two hours. In addition to attending these classes, participants may need to fulfill other requirements to successfully complete the program.
Registration for the IDP can be done at any local DMV office. For further details or specific inquiries, individuals are encouraged to contact Mel Bruschetti, Director, or Grace Diaz, Program Assistant. Please check back for updates as the program looks forward to serving participants in the future.
