The Center for Family Life and Recovery offers Impaired Driver Program (IDP) classes at two convenient locations: Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) in Utica and 201 West Dominick Street in Rome. These classes are available on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings to accommodate various schedules. To register for the program and receive your conditional license, participants must sign up through their local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The program is approved by the New York State DMV and taught by experienced instructors who have completed extensive training.
The Utica location is at MVCC, Room AB255, and can be accessed by either of two routes. The Rome location, situated at 201 West Dominick Street, requires participants to wait in the lobby for the instructor. The program fee is $233, with a re-entry fee of $50 for those needing to retake the course.
For more information or to register, participants should visit their local DMV office. The program serves residents of Oneida, Herkimer, and Lewis counties, and DMV offices are located in Herkimer, Lowville, Madison County, Rome, and Utica. Classes are designed to help individuals fulfill their court or DMV requirements following impaired driving charges, providing valuable education and support to promote safer driving habits.
