The New York State Impaired Driver Program (IDP) at Orange County Community College, sponsored by SUNY Orange since 1975, offers a comprehensive education and prevention program for individuals convicted of driving while intoxicated (DWI) or driving while ability impaired (DWAI). This 16-hour, 7-week course is conducted by highly qualified and compassionate instructors certified by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Classes are conveniently scheduled on weeknight evenings and Saturday mornings, ensuring flexibility for participants.
To enroll in the program, eligible drivers must visit an Orange County DMV office in Middletown, Goshen, Port Jervis, or Newburgh with proof of their DWI/DWAI conviction. Once eligibility is confirmed, participants can request to attend the IDP at SUNY Orange. The program emphasizes confidentiality and a respectful learning environment.
For more information or to register, contact the IDP office at (845) 341-4892. SUNY Orange remains a trusted and approved provider of the IDP in Orange County, dedicated to helping participants meet legal requirements and regain their driving privileges.
