The Impaired Driving Program (IDP) is a critical component of New York State's initiative to reduce the personal and property damage caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs. This program goes beyond teaching driving laws; it addresses the dangerous misconceptions and attitudes that lead many drivers to believe they can safely drive under the influence. Through weekly classes offered at various times, participants are guided to change these harmful behaviors and make safer choices on the road.
Classes are available on Mondays or Fridays at 6:00 PM, Tuesdays or Thursdays at 8:30 AM, and Saturdays at 9:00 AM. To register, participants must visit the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and request Site Location #4000. For more details, interested individuals can call 914-949-8500.
In addition to the IDP, NCADD/Westchester, Inc. offers a Court Mandated Underage Drinking Prevention Program. This psycho-educational and experiential program is designed for young adults who have been convicted of underage drinking offenses. The program aims to provide these individuals with the necessary information to prevent future alcohol and drug problems and to help them understand the significant dangers and risks associated with underage drinking.
