North Carolina DWI Programs by County

Search for state-certified DWI programs in your North Carolina county. These programs, mandated by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), include in-person substance use assessments and educational or treatment programs to satisfy court and DMV requirements.

Every DWI offender in North Carolina must complete a substance use assessment, which determines whether you need educational intervention or a treatment program. If you are not diagnosed with a substance use disorder, you will be referred to an educational program like ADETS. The ADETS program uses the PRIME for Life curriculum to educate individuals about the risks of substance abuse and prevent future offenses. If your BAC was 0.14% or higher, or if you refused a breath test, you will be referred to a treatment program for further intervention.
