Navigating the DWI assessment and treatment process in North Carolina can be straightforward with the right guidance. To begin, you’ll undergo a substance abuse assessment conducted by a certified or licensed clinical addictions specialist, as only approved providers can perform these assessments. The standard fee for an assessment is at least $100, in addition to a $15.99 DMV fee. Our approach utilizes the NEEDS electronic assessment, which enhances accuracy and allows you to complete part of the assessment from home, with a follow-up telehealth appointment lasting 60-90 minutes.

Following your assessment, you'll receive a treatment recommendation based on its findings. North Carolina mandates that treatment must start within six months of the assessment. Treatment options vary in intensity, ranging from ADETS, a 16-hour educational program for low-risk individuals, to short-term and long-term group therapies, as well as referrals for intensive outpatient or inpatient services when necessary.

Treatment is completed by attending group sessions at your chosen provider, with the flexibility to transfer between providers without penalty. It is crucial to start treatment within six months to avoid additional fees. Once treatment is completed, the final step involves submitting the E-508 form, allowing you to apply for license reinstatement with the DMV. With a structured process and various support options available, we are here to assist you every step of the way.
