DWI Services Overview

At The Blanchard Institute, we are committed to assisting clients and their families in navigating the complexities of DWI requirements and treatment. Licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide essential DWI services for individuals charged with both in-state and out-of-state DWI offenses. Our offerings include comprehensive DWI assessments, which can be conducted either virtually or in-person at our facilities in Charlotte and Lake Norman. Depending on the recommendations or mandates set forth by North Carolina Statutes, we also provide additional substance use education and ongoing treatment.

Upon scheduling a DWI assessment with us, clients will initiate the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (NC DMV) E508 process. Our dedicated team treats every client with care and respect, fostering a supportive environment that feels like family. We understand that recovery can be challenging; therefore, we emphasize compassionate encouragement alongside the "tough love" necessary for success. Our approach ensures clients feel supported throughout their journey, regardless of setbacks.

To participate in the assessment, clients must bring essential documents, including proof of Blood/Breath Alcohol Concentration (BAC), any available citations, and a current Lifetime North Carolina Motor Vehicle Record. Additionally, clients are required to pay a nonrefundable assessment fee. The assessment process involves obtaining signed consent forms, conducting a clinical interview, and providing a comprehensive assessment recommendation, ensuring that all necessary requirements are met for compliance with the NC DMV.
