Mission Statement
Independence House is dedicated to overseeing and supporting offenders in both residential and non-residential settings, with a primary focus on aligning them with treatment and vocational resources to facilitate their successful reintegration into the community. The organization's commitment to public safety is central to its mission, ensuring that every effort is made to fulfill this important responsibility with the utmost care.
Residential Overview
Independence House operates three community correction centers in the Denver Metro area, providing a secure environment for client re-entry. The Independence House Pecos (IHP) facility, a 75-bed center for men, serves clients from the Department of Corrections and Denver County Diversion programs. The facility is designed to support clients in their transition back into society through structured environments and mentoring. Clients benefit from case managers who assist in skill-building and vocational training, including partnerships with vocational programs at Buena Vista and Sterling Correctional facilities. These programs offer training in heavy equipment operation and leadership. The IHP facility emphasizes positive reinforcement and community support to help clients overcome their individual challenges.
Out-Patient Overview
Independence House also operates an outpatient program licensed by the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health, offering addiction treatment and support for co-occurring and mental health disorders. This program serves various criminal justice populations, including federal, state, county, and judicial justice agencies, providing comprehensive treatment teams to address a range of behavioral health needs.
